Thanks for the info Robert :)
I can only vouch for the best Buy stores in San Diego, Ca, but some of
them recently were selling all their Anime for 50% off. Of the 3 stores
that I checked, only one had this sale. I was told that the BB stores
whose Anime sales were "less than stellar" were really trimming down
their selection. Now, the guy did not come right out and say they were
eliminating Anime, but just trimming their selection. Another BB store I
checked at, the man I talked to said their Anime just flies out the
door. I was left with the impression that whichever Best Buy stores
whose Anime sales were not good would either trim down or eliminate
Anime and the stores whose Anime sales were good would keep it. I used
to buy all of my Anime at either Best Buy (when they really had a great
selection) or at Suncoast (now they are gone, at least from San Diego).
It looks like we're being steered to on line sites for Anime purchasing.
I imagine that it could be
different for Best Buy stores on the Wast Coast vs West Coast.
With NewtypeUSA & Anime Insider ceasing publication and Best Buy
trimming Anime selections in some of their stores and with Suncoast out
of business (at least in San Diego), it seems like Anime is getting a
raw deal no matter where you live. Too bad it doesn't get the respect
it really deserves. On line viewing/reading has taken away much from
the in-store & on-line sales, but I can't see why some of the magazines
are no more.
