Re: [animeontv] Old fashioned

Thanks for the info Robert :)

I can only vouch for the best Buy stores in San Diego, Ca, but some of them recently were selling all their Anime for 50% off.  Of the 3 stores that I checked, only one had this sale.  I was told that the BB stores whose Anime sales were "less than stellar" were really trimming down their selection.  Now, the guy did not come right out and say they were eliminating Anime, but just trimming their selection. Another BB store I checked at, the man I talked to said their Anime just flies out the door.  I was left with the impression that whichever Best Buy stores whose Anime sales were not good would either trim down or eliminate Anime and the stores whose Anime sales were good would keep it.  I used to buy all of my Anime at either Best Buy (when they really had a great selection) or at Suncoast (now they are gone, at least from San Diego).  It looks like we're being steered to on line sites for Anime purchasing.  I imagine that it could be
different for Best Buy stores on the Wast Coast vs West Coast.

With NewtypeUSA & Anime Insider ceasing publication and Best Buy trimming Anime selections in some of their stores and with Suncoast out of business (at least in San Diego), it seems like Anime is getting a raw deal no matter where you live.  Too bad it doesn't get the respect it really deserves.  On line viewing/reading has taken away much from the in-store & on-line sales, but I can't see why some of the magazines are no more.

Subject: [animeontv] Old fashioned

Hello Everyone
.
I hope that you are doing well on this windy and sunny day.
I am feeling alot better now.
.
I guess that going to be old fashioned for the rest of my life. So let thestarting say this that the Internet was one the great gifts that came out of the20th century! But suspite that I am a believer of using a variety of sources tofind information.
.
Looking back into my past used magazines , books , catlogs, conventions programguides , Internet, Dvds , backs of VHS video boxs, people in order to research information on anime series.
.
You know what I like the mostis use printed material at times. I have been a
comic book fan as far back as 1969.
.
In the later part of the 1980s there was magazine called
Elic Logs that had listed gudies for tv shows. I picked up some copys of them.
.
I heard a rumor going around that Best Buy will be discontinuing their animeline of DVDs because of poor sales.
.
FYE is also returning many DVDs anime titles for the same reason.
.
I do believe that you can have a good market for anime magazine here in the USA.That there a lot of good questions that needs to be answered like what ever happen to Apollo Smiles the live anime girl. Why did Steamline go under?
