[animeontv] What been going on with me.

Hello Everyone . I hope that you are doing well today. First of all I'd
like for you to read this posting from one of my new members in NC Rowan
County Anime Group. . Wow, what a serious conversation for an anime
board! that's unusual.
well, I thought I might give my own brief opinion on this subject.
personally, I
do agree with the argument that print media has largely been superceded
by the
internet and its innovations, and is now the leading source of
information in
the world. this makes sense to me. however, in my opinion, this does not
necessarily mean that print media must die, or vanish as a consequence,
which
many people seem to be arguing (and hoping for). obviously it has lost
and will
contine to lose some of its importance, but economics has probably
already moved past the "one-format" rule of old, and I believe there
will likely remain an
audience for mainstream print media well into the future, if only as a
casual
entertainment or collectible. the crucial thing now is for the paper
industries
to realize this, and evolve accordingly, and not spend and spend money
like they
have gotten used to doing; in other words, they should trim their
services and
downsize their plans. this is not to even mention the small-scale print
companies that are starting up with the HELP of the internet to attract
their
new customers.
anyway, I don't think anyone here was arguing that the internet was a
"bad"
thing or some kind of menace. sure, it does have some problems, but
overall it
is a great, cheap, and highly convenient means of communication and
information.
on the other hand, the idea of it being the ONLY format available in the
future
is not a very appealing or positive one, at least to people such as
myself. I
definitely agree with Robert that there should be some diversity.
and of course, it is all up to the person's own individual tastes.
as for anime/manga magazines in English, I personally like the concept,
but I
think if they're going to be succesful and attract fans at all they will
have to
follow more closely on their Japanese counterparts and co-operate with
them
more. well, those are my thoughts on the subject.
.
By the way, has anyone here watched the new Slayers series? I'm thinking
of
watching it soon since I liked the original so much.
. "Taku Kuwano" . Thank you for your input , Taku Kuwano. If I can get
someone to set down and think about the subject . I am doing an
outstanding job as Co-President of N.C.R.C.A.G and also being a friend.
You should have been with me and Co-President Tim Will last Tuesday as
we were talking about the May meeting and ConCarolinas 2009. We both
were having a time of it just like Hatfield and The McCoys. Now that's
what you call serious issues. . Note to JR: I just got this information
this last Saturday about animated TV series called Huntik: Secrets &
Seekers. There is also a trading card game that also goes with this
series. I need you to contact them to see if they can send us some
promotional material for ConCarolinas 2009. Here is the mailing
address: . Upper Deck Attn :Tara Martinez 985 Tarde Drive Ste,A Las
Vegas ,NV 88030 . Web site : http://www.Huntink.com
<http://www.huntink.com/> . I am planning to show the promotion DVD of
Huntik at this coming April meeting . It only takes up 10 minutes. .
Now let 's change gears here. I had a great time last Saturday at Rowan
County Public Library book sale . The book sale is still going on today.
But I was able to pick up some wonderful information on books and VHS
video tapes like The History of the Comics volume one that talk about
the Yellow Kid and
Gasoline Alley. Sadly The History of Comics video tape did not cover
anything that happened in 1814 to end of 1920s of Japanese history of
comic. Manga came out in 1814 Katsuhika Hokusai manga is series of
stechbooks by Japanese artist Hokusai published in 1814 to 1878 in
fifteen volumes. The other VHS Video tape that I picked up was called
Power In The Pacific : Japan Comes First. It gives an outline form like
the 1940s to 1970s history of Japan. Third tape I got was The Fantastic
World of M.C. Escher and the last time The Case Book of Sherlock Holmes
:The Creeping Man. As far as books: The Gateway to Japan and Fodor's
Japan. Not bad for about $5.00 for everything. Alot people really seemed
to enjoy my Farscape t-shirt at the book sale . I saw a young boy with a
DC Super villain done by artist Alex Ross t-shirt and young mother with
a Wonder Woman t-shirt on. . Has anyone heard anything new about Yunmao
Ayakwa -Professional Cosplay Idol or Keith Burgess -Manga Entertainment
these days? . .
