I hope that you are doing well today. I'd like to start off with this posting from Michael Haney and a thank you posting.

It isn't just anime publications feeling the pinch but also regular
magazines and newspapers. Part of it is the economy, but the biggest
factor is the INTERNET. More and more people are getting their news,
entertainment and anime news from online sources rather than from
print. So, this can't be counted as a decline of Anime but is a part
of the decline of print media as a whole as its slowly usurped by the
Internet. This is a case where the surviving publications must make
the decision to adapt to the changes in the market to live on or close
up shop. Its basic evolution, if you can't adapt to a changing
environment you go extinct. The same holds true for ANY business,
that includes the recording and movie industries. They're environment
is changing, they're violently trying resisting evolution but you
can't fight it no matter how hard they try they can't stop it and they
need to understand this and adapt or become irrelevant. Newspapers
have been learning this lesson as well in recent weeks.

Now it's my turn to answer back. The Internet is an inanimate object. It is very easy to play the blame game on it! The Internet at times is a very good tool. But it should not be the only tool in the box. But again, I was very lucky to have a friend by the name of Bill Nalin. Bill had shown me the importance of old magazines, catalogs, and books, as well as what the true meaning of the term "research" was all about. To use an old Star Wars cliche, he taught well.

If I remember right, Newtype Magazine in Japan is still being printed. Only Newtype U.S.A was cancelled.

Like I said before, there is a market for a good monthly Anime magazine over here in the States but it needs to be on the cutting edge for all anime fans.

One of these days I hope to see C/D manga books coming out here in the USA. I would not mind buying audio books of Fruits Basket or Genshiken. I wondering if anyone would care to start up a radio station and give TV a run for its money. Over in Japan they did at one time play Genshiken as a radio show. I remember seeing Volume 1 of a DVD of Genshiken as Under 17 was performing on DVD. I would also love to see a C/D combination of anime TV theme music coming out again very soon with the original songs.

April 18, 2009 .The NC Rowan County Anime Group will be meeting in front of Books-A-Million store in Salisbury ,NC at 5:35pm .At 5:50 pm we will be going over to person's home in
to have our meeting . We will be looking at the anime series series called Kishin Corps . This anime series is not appropriate for young kids because of some language use in this anime series.

May 2, 2009 is free comic book day. That means local comic book stores will be giving away free comic books.

Unhuu Sentrai Noiz will be performing a live concert at this year's Animazement 2009. Kichi Tsunoda and Noriko Hidaka are also joining the ranks of guests at Animazement 2009.
